ST. CHARLES PARISH, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that the first phase of the Luling Bridge repaving operations is complete, and motorists can expect a new lane configuration to go into effect as all traffic will be placed on the new pavement on the northbound span.

Beginning on April 20 at 8 p.m., the one southbound lane of I-310 will be detoured onto the northbound span of I-310. There will still be two lanes available for travel on northbound I-310. With the detouring of the southbound traffic, the entrance ramp from La. 48 to I-310 South will be closed. Motorists wishing to enter I-310 South from La. 48 may access via US 61.

In addition to the lane detour, the exit ramp from I-310 South to La. 18 will be closed. In order to reach La. 18 from I-310 South, it is recommended that motorists exit at La. 3127 or U.S. 90.

The work is part of a $24.5 million project to replace the Interstate 310/ Luling (Hale Boggs) Bridge deck and perform repairs. The project began in January 2016 and is estimated for completion in mid-June 2016.

All planned construction activities are weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to drive with caution through this and other highway work zones. Also, be alert for the presence of construction workers and equipment.
