PROJECT UPDATE: I-310, St. Charles Parish, S.P. H.010498
Friday, April 08, 2016 at 9:24:39 AM
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that the first phase of the Luling Bridge repaving operations will soon be completed and motorists can expect a new lane configuration to go into effect as they transition onto the new pavement starting April 13.

The transition period (April 13 to April 20) will create some additional delays. During non-peak hours, the contractor will be moving equipment from the southbound pavement to the northbound pavement, which will slow down the one-southbound lane and close one of the northbound lanes.

Beginning April 13, the two northbound lanes will return to the northbound pavement. The week following this change, the contractor will be repositioning barrier rail to also switch the one southbound lane to the northbound pavement. The movement of the southbound lane is tentatively scheduled to occur on April 20, when the on-ramp from La. 48 to southbound I-310 and the off-ramp from southbound I-310 to La. 18 will be closed.

The work is part of a $24.5 million project to replace the Interstate 310/Luling (Hale Boggs) Bridge deck and perform repairs. The project began in Jan 2016 and is estimated for completion in mid-June 2016.

All planned construction activities are weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to drive with caution through this and other highway work zones. Also, be alert for the presence of construction workers and equipment.
