U.S. 51 (LA 22 to Club Deluxe Road)
STAGE 1 ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT
TANGIPAHOA PARISH

The US 51 (LA 22 to Club Deluxe Road) Environmental Assessment project is currently under study by the Regional Planning Commission (RPC), in conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The project includes widening of and intersection improvements to U.S. 51 (Veterans Avenue) from just north of the LA Hwy 22 intersection on the south to the new Club Deluxe Road roundabout intersection on the north (improvements to the LA 22/ US 51 intersection are being studied under a separate LADOTD project). Three alternatives are currently under study, each of which has the same general alignment, but each of which feature different types of intersection improvements. The total length of the project is approximately 2.5 miles.

A public informational meeting has been set up on the project, and the RPC invites all interested parties to attend this meeting. The date, time and location of the meeting is as follows:

Time: 5:30 p. m. – 7:30 p.m.

The meeting will be held in an "open house" format, with the public free to show up any time during the scheduled time period. The purpose of the meeting is (1) to provide information to the public about the project alternatives, and also, (2) to obtain public input on the project. Information packet hand-outs will be available to the public, and a court reporter will be available to record oral comments at each of the meetings.

All interested parties and their representatives are invited to be present at the above date, time and location for the purpose of becoming acquainted with the project, reviewing findings to date, and providing comments and input. All written statements or comments may be submitted at the meeting, or may be mailed to the following address and must be postmarked within 10 days following the meetings (by Friday, April 15, 2016):
