US 171 Junction LA 10 to Boone St; Vernon Parish, Project Update

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that, weather permitting, construction work will begin on US 171 from LA 10 to Boone Street on Monday, March 4, 2013 and will continue for approximately (6) six months. This 6.6 mile project involves concrete pavement patching, lime treatment of subgrade, in-place cement stabilized base course, asphalt pavement patching, and super-pave asphaltic concrete pavement.

The project was awarded to the low bidder, Prairie Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $14,231,194.09.

Permit/Detour section
US 171 Southbound lanes from 300 feet south of the intersection of LA 10 to 400 feet north of the intersection of Boone Street will require lane closures and wide-load vehicle restrictions. The US 171 Southbound lanes will have will have wide-load vehicle restrictions for vehicles over 10 feet in width. One of the southbound lanes will be accessible at all times.
