BATON ROUGE -- The Department of Transportation and Development public meeting scheduled for Feb. 23 to discuss proposed improvements to the Interstate 10 corridor in the Capitol region was postponed because of severe weather. The date is now March 9 from 6-8 p.m. at the Addis Community Center, 7820 Highway 1 South.

Currently, DOTD is in the early stage of studying alternatives for improvements on I-10 from La. 415 in West Baton Rouge Parish to the I-10/I-12 split in East Baton Rouge Parish. The open-house style meeting will consist of DOTD officials along with engineering and traffic experts who will present regional engineering and traffic study results based on input from the initial round of public meetings in August and September of 2015.

The Addis meeting is the last of three. The first was held Monday, Feb. 22, at McKinley Middle Magnet School. The second is scheduled for tonight, Feb. 25, at the Baton Rouge Marriott, 5500 Hilton Ave., from 6-8 p.m.

At each meeting, representatives from the project team will be present to receive comments and answer questions related to the stage 0 feasibility study. The open house meetings will also include a brief, continuously running slide presentation, project team availability for direct questions and an interactive exercise where the public can submit their input.
