BATON ROUGE – Today, the Louisiana Department of Transportation announced the schedule for a series of public hearings to present the Fiscal Year 2015-16 Preliminary Highway Program. The public hearings will be conducted by the Joint Transportation, Highways and Public Works Committee. They will be held throughout the state and will focus on projects and priorities in each area.

The purpose of the public hearings is to review highway construction priorities for the fiscal year 2015-2016. Public comments made during the hearings will be officially recorded and submitted to the committee for review and consideration in future years.

DOTD Secretary Sherri H. LeBas added, "Since Governor Jindal took office in January 2008, an unprecedented $6.5 billion has been invested to improve Louisiana’s infrastructure. This investment amounts to over 2,800 projects to repair approximately 7,800 miles of roadway and 450 bridges.
