BELLE CHASSE, LA. - Construction on the new Belle Chasse Bridge is nearing completion, and all four lanes will soon be operational. The bridge is expected to be fully open to traffic on Sunday, March 16, 2025.

Tolling on the bridge will not start immediately, and residents can still obtain a GeauxPass toll tag online or in person at two upcoming registration events.

Tolls will be collected in each direction by an electronic tolling system that does not require vehicles to stop. Residents and commuters are encouraged to get a GeauxPass, which offers lower toll rates and ease of payment.

The community is invited to any of four upcoming open houses to receive information and their GeauxPass(es) at no cost.

In 2025, the toll for Plaquemines Parish residents with a Class 1 vehicle (a standard car or truck) using a GeauxPass is $0.25. To qualify for this discount, individuals must register and provide proof of residency. The toll for non-resident Class 1 vehicles with a GeauxPass is $1.13, while those without a GeauxPass will pay $2.26. For a complete list of vehicle classifications and toll rates, please visit www.bellechassebridge.com/tolling. All rate categories are subject to an annual increase based on the CPI, except for the Plaquemines Parish Resident rate, and any changes will be published in advance.

Residents of Plaquemines Parish are reminded that to qualify for the resident toll rate, they must provide proof of residency by submitting a driver's license and vehicle registration, both of which must show an address in Plaquemines Parish. Anyone opening a new GeauxPass account needs to provide a driver’s license, vehicle registration, and a credit or debit card to prefund their account with $30; original documents and copies will be accepted.
