UPDATE - REOPENED: LA 1 (N. Market St.) southbound over Twelve Mile Bayou, Caddo Parish
(UPDATE 3/5/2025 2:45PM): DOTD advises motorists that this bridge has been inspected and been deemed safe for travel. It has been reopened to traffic.

(Original notification 3/5/2025):
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that, effectively immediately, LA 1 (N. Market St.) southbound bridge over Twelve Mile Bayou near downtown Shreveport, Caddo Parish is closed due to a gas line attached to the bridge that caught on fire.
This bridge is located next to the former Dupont Fish Market, approximately 0.22 miles north of the intersection with Caddo Street. (see attached map)
DOTD crews will inspect the bridge to ensure it is safe for travel before reopening to traffic.
DOTD will issue an update when the bridge has been reopened.
Restrictions/Permits: Full road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Alternate Route: Southbound motorists on N. Market Street will be detoured via LA 3036 (N. Common St.) to US 80 (Texas Street)
