Cameron Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that work on LA 82 from Dyson Road to 0.9 miles east of N. Island Road is set to begin Thursday, February 27, 2025.

The project will consist of patching, milling and overlay work.

Motorists can expect alternating lane closures on LA 82 Eastbound and Westbound for the duration of the project. Closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., daily, Monday through Friday. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place for the Eastbound and Westbound lanes of LA 82 throughout the project.

Lane closures are necessary for crews to perform patching and drainage work. Flaggers will be on site to manage traffic flow.

R.E. Heidt Construction Co. is the contractor for the project. This project is expected to be complete by mid-August 2025, weather permitting.
