DOTD announces upcoming $4.3 million preservation project on La. 92-1 (Smede Highway) in St. Martin Parish

ST. MARTIN PARISH, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Monday, February 17, 2025 construction will commence on a $4.73 million dollar project along La. 92-1 from U.S. 90 to La. 182.
SCOPE OF WORK
This project consist of milling, in-place base rehab, asphalt concrete overlay, drainage improvements and related work.
WORK SCHEDULE
Work is estimated to take place Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weather permitting.
TRAVEL IMPACTS
Intermittent lane closures will be required to perform the work, therefore, drivers should expect delays.
There will also be a planned ten-day full road closure event for La. 92-1 during the project, which is necessary to construct the area near U.S. 90. The Department will publish a press release for this planned road closure event.
Emergency vehicles will have access through this area, except during the planned road closure event.
The project is estimated for completion in fall of 2025.
