DOTD announces start of $5.2M project on La. 3277 (George Soileau Rd.) in Evangeline Parish

EVANGELINE PARISH, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Monday, January 6, 2025 construction will commence on a $5.2 million project on La. 3277 (George Soileau Rd.) from La. 757 to La. 104 in Evangeline Parish.
This 4.9-mile project will consist of milling asphaltic concrete, subgrade treatment, in-place base rehab, patching, asphalt overlay, replacing drainage structures, guard rail installation, rumble strips, striping, and related work.
The work is estimated to take place Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Intermittent lane closures will be required to perform the work, therefore, drivers should expect delays. The road will be open to regular traffic with a 12-foot maximum lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone.
Emergency vehicles will have access through this area but may encounter delays.
The project is estimated for completion in August 2025.
