Baton Rouge, La- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that all lanes of I-12 east at the I-10/I-12 split will be closed overnight. This closure is necessary for crews to complete the concrete deck for the College Drive Flyover Project.
The closure will begin at 10 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14, and will reopen by 5 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15. During the closure, motorists are advised to utilize the designated detour route. Drivers should take I-10 east to the Essen Lane exit and proceed north on Essen Lane to access the I-12 east on-ramp.
Additionally, the left lane of I-10 eastbound from College Drive to the split, as well as the left lane of I-12 eastbound from the split to Essen Lane, will be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday for construction work. These closures are necessary to facilitate the pouring of concrete on the new I-10 westbound bridge that is directly above I-12 eastbound.
In the event that the full closure needs to be rescheduled, backup dates are set for Sunday, Dec. 15, and Monday, Dec. 16, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.
The College Drive Flyover project is anticipated to be complete in spring 2025. For the most up-to-date information on the project, please visit www.collegeflyover.com.
