UPDATE - CANCELED: US 80 (E. Texas Street) at the UP RR crossing, Bossier Parish
(UPDATE 10/22/2024): DOTD advises motorists that this road closure for US 80 (E. Texas Street) in Bossier City has been CANCELED.

Original notification:
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Sunday, October 27, 2024, US 80 (E. Texas Street) at the Union Pacific railroad crossing in Bossier City will be closed.
This road closure is scheduled to take place beginning at approximately 7:00 a.m. on Oct. 27th and will remain in place until Friday, November 1, 2024 at approximately 5:00 p.m.
The closure is necessary to allow UP Railroad to perform repairs to their crossing.
This crossing is located about 700 feet west of the LA 3 (Benton Road) intersection (see included map).
Restrictions/Permits: Total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Alternate Route: Traffic will be detoured via the Walter O. Bigby Carriageway. Detour signage will be in place.
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
