Belle Chasse Bridge & Tunnel Project: Southbound Traffic Shift
Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 8:33:42 AM
BELLE CHASSE, LA—The Belle Chasse Bridge and Tunnel Replacement Project announces a traffic shift scheduled to occur on the evening of Tuesday, June 25, 2024. This shift will move southbound LA 23 traffic onto the newly constructed lanes of the new Belle Chasse Bridge. Plaquemines Parish Sheriff Department, road signage, and new lane striping will be in place to safely guide vehicles throughout the area. During this time, Northbound LA 23 traffic will remain on the old Belle Chasse lift bridge.

Tolling will begin later this summer after the new Belle Chasse Bridge is open in both directions. As always, these scheduled activities are subject to change based on weather and other conditions affecting a construction project of this nature.
