The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that, weather permitting, on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 8:00am, the entrance ramp onto I-49 south located on US 167 south will be closed temporarily. This temporary lane closure is expected to last approximately 3 hours.

This construction project consists of sign replacements and related work.

This contract was awarded to Highway Safety Systems LLC in the amount of $2,109,152.25.

Permit/Detour Section
The entrance ramp will be closed to all traffic for the duration mentioned above.

The detour is as follows:
South bound traffic on US 167 attempting to enter onto I-49 south will travel south on US 167 and by pass the current entrance ramp. This traffic will then continue south on US 167 and make a U – turn onto US 167 north. From there, proceed north on US 167 onto the I-49 south bound entrance ramp for this lane.

The detour route will be identified with temporary construction signage. All emergency agencies will be notified of the lane closure.
