UPDATE - ROAD CLOSURE DUE TO HIGH WATER: LA 554, Morehouse Parish
(UPDATE): DOTD advises motorists that LA 554 in Morehouse Parish has been REOPENED.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that LA 554 approximately 3.6 miles from its intersection with US 165 in Morehouse Parish is closed due to high water as a result of recent heavy rainfall.
DOTD reminds motorists to never drive around or move ‘road closed’ barricades at any time for any reason. This behavior is extremely unsafe, as well as against the law.
Additionally, never drive through standing water, no matter how shallow the water appears to be.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
