EVANGELINE PARISH, LA - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Monday, March 11, construction will begin on a $3.3 million project to construct two new bridges along La. 376 in Evangeline Parish.

The first project site will include constructing a new concrete slab span bridge on LA 376, located 4.3 miles west of its intersection with LA 13. The second project site will involve removing and replacing an existing bridge on LA 376, located 3.5 miles west of LA 13, with precast concrete box culverts.

The project will include detour roads for both sites in order to maintain through traffic.

The work is estimated to take place Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

Emergency vehicles will have access through this area.

The road will be open to regular traffic with a 10-foot lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone.

The project is estimated to be complete in December 2024.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
