UPDATE - REOPENED: LA 157 at Cypress Bayou Relief, Webster Parish

Original notification:

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Monday, January 29, 2024, the LA 157 bridge over Cypress Bayou Relief in north Webster Parish will be closed.

This closure is scheduled to be in place for approximately 10 days, and is necessary to allow crews to perform pile driving repairs.

This bridge is located approximately 6.5 miles east of US 371, between Cullen and Shongaloo. (see included map)

Restrictions/Permits: Total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to detour.

Alternate Route: Traffic will be detoured via LA 2.

This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
