4:00 PM, Tuesday, January 16, 2024: The southbound/new and northbound/old Belle Chasse Bridges have returned to full standard operation.

BELLE CHASSE, LA. - Two-way traffic has begun on the new/southbound Belle Chasse Bridge to accommodate both northbound and southbound traffic.


The old/northbound Belle Chasse Bridge remains closed due to ice.

The project will continue to send updates as they become available.

BELLE CHASSE, LA. - In addition to the previously distributed notice (below), the left lane of the new/southbound Belle Chasse Bridge on LA 23 is also closed due to ice. The project will continue to send updates as they become available.

Belle Chasse Bridge Northbound is closed at this time due to weather.

BELLE CHASSE, LA.
- Ice has been detected on the Belle Chasse Bridge's northbound LA 23 lanes (otherwise known as the "old" Belle Chasse Bridge). Therefore, the northbound Belle Chasse Bridge is closed. Motorists should avoid this route. The project will update the public on changes to this status as they occur.
