DOTD announces opening of newly re-aligned portion of La. 88 (Coteau Rd.) in Iberia Parish

IBERIA PARISH, La. - Beginning Monday, December 18, at 8 a.m., the new re-aligned portion of La. 88 will open to the traveling public.
The new section will tie-in into the existing La. 88 (Coteau Rd.) 0.1 miles east of Snapper Rd. and 0.5 miles west of Cromwell Dr.
Drives can access the old portion of La. 88 by using the newly constructed segment and Fremin Rd. The currently closed portion of Fremin Rd. will open to traffic on Monday December 18, at 8 a.m.
There will be alternating lanes closures throughout the newly opened section of La. 88 (Coteau Rd) to allow crews to continue asphalt paving. The road will be open to regular traffic with a 12-foot maximum lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone.
Emergency vehicles will have access to this area.
The project is expected to be completed in February 2024.
