US 165; Alexandria, Rapides Parish
US 165 West Side Service Road on Both Sides of Horseshoe Drainage Canal

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, (DOTD), advises the public that US 165 West Side Service Road will be closed to thru traffic beginning at 7:00 am on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, and ending at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 to accommodate the City of Alexandria to do a drainage improvements project at US 165 South of the Traffic Circle for the Horseshoe Drainage Canal.
Vehicle Detour
All traffic will be detoured to the mainline highway.

US 165 North and South Travel Lanes near Horseshoe Drainage Canal

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, (DOTD), advises the public that US 165 South of Traffic Circle will have some lane shifts on the North and South Travel Lanes.
Phase 1 is near completion and the transition to Phase 2 began on February 9th. Phase 2 consists of closing the two inside lanes of US 165 highway in both Southbound and Northbound directions. There is also a 12 foot lane width restriction for US 165 in both Southbound and Northbound directions. Phase 2 completion will result in the re-opening of the two inside lanes of US 165. Construction of Phase 2 is anticipated to be completed within the next three (3) to four (4) months. Traffic should seek alternative routes as much as practical in order to avoid delays in travel time. The City of Alexandria appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, (DOTD), advises the public that US 165 East Side Service Road will be closed to thru traffic beginning at 7:00 am on Monday, October 16, 2023, and ending at 7:00 pm on Friday, November 17, 2023 to accommodate the City of Alexandria to do a drainage improvements project at US 165 South of the Traffic Circle for the Horseshoe Drainage Canal.
