UPCOMING OVERNIGHT TUNNEL CLOSURES; TWO-WAY TRAFFIC ON BRIDGE
BELLE CHASSE, LA. - The Belle Chasse Bridge and Tunnel Replacement Project announces upcoming overnight closures of the Belle Chasse Tunnel.
These closures will occur overnight, starting at 11:00 PM on Friday and ending on the next day, Saturday, at noon. They will take place during the following time periods:
These closures are necessary to facilitate concrete deck placements on the south side of the project.
On these evenings both lanes of the tunnel will be closed. In its place, one lane of the current bridge will be used for southbound LA 23 traffic, creating a two-way traffic flow on the bridge. Plaquemines Parish Shariff's Office will be on-site to assist.
