St. Landry Parish, La. — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Monday, August 28, 2023 construction will begin on a $6.4 million project that will include the section of La. 358 from La. 357 to La. 182.

The 3.46-mile project will include drainage structures, milling asphalt pavement, pavement patching, in place cement stabilized base course, subgrade layer treatment, asphalt concrete overlay, and related.

The work is estimated to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

There will be intermittent lane closures throughout the project, therefore drivers should expect delays. The road will be open to regular traffic with a 12-foot maximum lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone. There will also be a road closure event during the project, to install drainage structures crossing the roadway. The Department will publish a press release for the road closure event and a detour route will be posted.

Emergency vehicles will have access to this area, except during the planned road closure event which will be announced.

The project is estimated for completion in Spring 2024.
