BCBTRP announces upcoming temp. tunnel closure and 2-way bridge traffic

BELLE CHASSE, LA. - The Belle Chasse Bridge and Tunnel Replacement Project announces an upcoming temporary overnight closure of the Belle Chasse Tunnel.
This traffic shift will occur overnight between Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 7 p.m. and will end Friday, August 25, 2023, at 5 a.m. During this period, both lanes of the tunnel will be closed. In it's place, one lane of the bridge will be used for southbound LA 23 traffic, creating a two-way traffic flow on the bridge. Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office will be on site to assist.
