Belle Chasse Bridge & Tunnel Project: Tunnel Cleaning Closure

BELLE CHASSE, LA. - The Belle Chasse Bridge and Tunnel Replacement Project announces the southbound lanes of LA 23 through the Belle Chasse Tunnel will be closed on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, from 7 p.m. until Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 5 a.m.

The closure is necessary to allow crews to clean the tunnel. All work is weather permitting. As an alternate route, motorists can take the Belle Chasse Bridge (LA 23) in either direction.
