Time: 7 p.m. - 5 a.m.

BELLE CHASSE, LA. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces the southbound lanes of LA 23 through the Belle Chasse Tunnel will be closed on Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 7 p.m. until Friday, April 14, 2023, at 5 a.m. The lanes will remain open Wednesday, April 12, 2023. The dates have been adjusted due to pending inclement weather.

The closure is necessary to allow crews to clean the tunnel. All work is weather permitting. As an alternate route, motorists can take the Belle Chasse Bridge (LA 23) in either direction.
