** US 71: Turn Lane for Emergency Staging Area**

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, (DOTD), advises the public that beginning Monday, August 8th, 2022, weather permitting, northbound US 71 / US 167 between the north and south intersections of LA 470 will have alternating lane closures. The left lane of southbound US 71 / US 167 between the north and south intersections of LA 470 will also be closed.

The lane closures are needed to complete the construction of turn lanes and crossovers. These lane closures are expected to last approximately 2 months.

Permit/Detour section
There are no detours at this time associated with the lane closures.

There will be a Lane Width restriction of 12 feet for the lane closures for northbound US 71.

All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
