UPDATE - REOPENED: LA 514 over Bayou Chicot in Red River Parish


UPDATE (5/5/2022): DOTD advises motorists that repairs are complete and the LA 514 bridge over Bayou Chicot in Red River Parish is back OPEN to traffic. We appreciate your patience.

Original notification:

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Monday, May 2, 2022, the bridge over Bayou Chicot on LA 514 in Red River Parish will be closed to traffic.

This closure is scheduled to take place at 7:00 am on Monday, May 2, 2022 and will remain closed for approximately 4 weeks. This is necessary to allow DOTD crews to make necessary repairs to bridge over Bayou Chicot.

Alternate Route: US-71 and LA-783

Restrictions/Permits: N/A

This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
