DOTD announces project to repair portion of LA 173 in Blanchard, Caddo Parish


The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces a project to repair a nearly five mile section of LA 173 (Dixie Blanchard Road) near Blanchard in Caddo Parish.

The $2.4 million project will provide clearing and grubbing, pavement patching, milling and asphalt overlay, new pavement striping and other related work on LA 173 from LA 1 to US 71.

Work will begin with clearing and grubbing and pavement patching on Monday, November 8, 2021. All of the work may require intermittent lane and/or shoulder closures as the project progresses.

Motorists should be aware that crews and equipment will be on site and are strongly urged to adhere to posted speed limits in the work zone, and avoid any distractions while driving.

The entire project is expected to be complete in late Spring 2022, with progress dependent on weather conditions.
