DOTD to change hours and suspend ferry service in Plaquemine due to Tropical Storm Ida

Baton Rouge, LA - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that the Plaquemine ferry will have altered hours of operation on Saturday, August 28. The ferry will operate from 7:00 am until 12:00 pm. After noon Saturday, the ferry will be temporarily closed to secure the vessel in safe harbor ahead of dangerous weather conditions due to Tropical Storm Ida. The ferry will remain closed until conditions are safe for operations to resume.

Motorists are encouraged to check the status of road conditions and the ferry prior to commuting to impacted areas by using the following resources:
