LAFAYETTE, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning September 13, 2021, construction will begin on a $4,382,992.50 project to resurface U.S. 90 (Cameron Street) from 0.5 miles west of Jenkins Rd to 0.5 miles west of Ambassador Caffery Pkwy., located in Lafayette Parish.

The project will include grading, new drainage structures, milling asphalt concrete, pavement patching, asphalt overlay, turn lane widening, striping, traffic signalization and related work.

The work is scheduled to have day and night time operations. Daytime work is scheduled to take place from 6am – 6pm, outside of the roadway, and will not restrict any travel lanes.

Night work will consist of periodic alternating lane closures that will take place during the following times:

Sunday – Thursday: 7pm – 6am
Friday - Saturday: 7pm – 8am

Drivers can expect delays due to intermittent nightly lane closures. These closures are necessary to allow crews to install the drainage structures across the roadway and patch, mill and overlay the roadway.

There will be 12’ lane restriction during the nightly intermittent lane closures.

Emergency vehicles will have access to this area, but may encounter delays.

The project is estimated to be complete in July 2022.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
