UPDATE - Railroad crossings to be closed in Bunkie, Avoyelles Parish
PLEASE SEE UPDATED TIMES BELOW: The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that on Monday, August 23, 2021, the Union Pacific 4014 Steam Engine will be making a stop in Bunkie, Avoyelles Parish.
As a result of this visit, the railroad crossing at East Oak Street, LA 115 (Church Street), and East Pine Street will be blocked from approximately 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. *Please note that these times are subject to change based on the rail schedule.*
Additional communication will be issued in the event there are adjustments to the railroad crossing closures and/or times.
Alternate route: US 71 truck traffic should detour to LA 3170 to LA 1. Truck traffic east of Bunkie should detour north on LA 115 to LA 114 to LA 1.
Restrictions/Permits: N/A
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
