Permit Construction Project

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, (DOTD), advises the public that, weather permitting, on Monday, July 26, 2021, at 7:00 am, LA 496 (Bayou Rapides Rd.) will be closed to all traffic between 150 feet West of Ball Lane to Ball Lane.

The 150 feet permit construction project consists of installation of a cross drain and related work for Rapides Parish Police Jury. Construction is expected to be completed by July 30, 2021 at 5:00 pm.

This permit construction project will be installed by Progressive Construction.

Permit/Detour Section
The roadway will be close to traffic for the duration of the cross drain installation. The detour will be as follows:

East bound traffic on LA 496 (Bayou Rapides Rd.) will turn onto Plantation Road to LA 498 (England Drive) then proceed east on LA 498 (England Drive) to the intersection of US 165/LA 28 (N MacArthur Drive).

West bound traffic on LA 496 will turn onto Ball Lane onto Cloverleaf Blvd then proceed to LA 28 West (Coliseum Blvd/Leesville Hwy).

The detour route will be identified with proper markings for the general public. All emergency agencies will be notified of the road closure.
