UPDATE - REOPENED: US 79 east of LA 159, Webster Parish


(UPDATE): DOTD advises motorists that US 79 just east of LA 159 in Webster Parish has been reopened. It was previously closed due to downed trees/power lines as a result of severe weather.

Original notification:

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that US 79 just east of LA 159 in Webster Parish is CLOSED in both directions due to downed trees and power lines as a result of overnight severe weather.

DOTD will issue a notification when the roadway has been cleared and reopened.

DOTD reminds motorists to NEVER drive around ‘Road Closed’ barricades at any time for any reason. This behavior is extremely unsafe and illegal.
