The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, (DOTD), advises the public that beginning Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 4:00 p.m., weather permitting, LA 3144 (Edgewood Drive) will be closed at its junction with LA 28 East to allow for construction work. This work will consist of concrete pavement patching on LA 28 East. The closure can be expected to last only one night from 4:00 p.m. on May 23 to 7:00 a.m. on May 24.
Permit/Detour Section
The intersection of LA 28 East and LA 3144 (Edgewood Drive) will be completely closed and the detour route is as follows:
Westbound traffic on LA 28 East will continue on LA 28 to its junction with US 167, travel Northbound on US 167, and exit on LA 3144 (Edgewood Drive).
Eastbound traffic on LA 28 East will travel to US 167 and proceed North on US 167 and exit on LA 3144 (Edgewood Drive).
Westbound traffic on LA 3144 (Edgewood Drive) will travel to US 167 and proceed South on US 167 to its intersection with LA 28 and proceed East on LA 28.
The detour route will be identified with proper markings for the general public. All emergency agencies will be notified of the road closure.

All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
