Sauve Road Bridge at the Soniat Canal has been reopened

JEFFERSON, La. –The Sauve Road Bridge at the Soniat Canal, which was replaced by Jefferson Parish, is currently open. The bridge was opened on Wednesday, May 4, 2021.
DOTD provided oversight on the project and assisted Jefferson Parish in the bid process, which used 100% federal funds obtained from the Federal Highway Administration.
The $832,000 project removed and replaced the existing, Jefferson Parish-maintained bridge, which was built on timber piles in 1960 and has outlived its useful life. The bridge was closed to traffic in November 2020.
