The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, (DOTD), advises the public that the construction work on Palmer Chapel Road (Bridge) is complete and will be open to the traveling public starting at 12:00 pm (noon) on Friday August 20th, 2021.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, (DOTD), advises the public that beginning Monday, March 29, 2021 at 9:00 am, weather permitting, Palmer Chapel Road will be closed to thru traffic. The road closure will start approximately 1 mile from the intersection of LA 107. This closure is needed to remove two (2) tank cars and replace with a concrete slab span bridge. This is an off system bridge project for the Rapides Parish Highway Department that was awarded to Merrick Construction, LLC. in the amount of $1,819,991.20. This closure is expected to last approximately 3 months.

There are no detours at this time associated with these lane closures.
NOTE: There will be a no width restriction associated with these lane closures.

All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
