DOTD announces traffic diversion on La. 3212 in Iberia Parish

Iberia Parish, LA - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that beginning at 12 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021, the intersection of La. 3212 and Grand Prairie Road will be closed, as all traffic on La. 3212 will be diverted to a temporary diversion road.
This diversion is necessary to allow for the construction of a new roundabout at this intersection. The construction of the roundabout is expected to take six months – weather permitting.
The detour for La. 3212 northbound and southbound traffic needing access to Grand Prairie Road will be southwest on La. 3212; southeast on West Hwy 90 Frontage Road, east on Jefferson Island Road, and then north onto Grand Prairie Road.
The detour for Grand Prairie Road traffic needing access to La. 3212 will be south on Grand Prairie Road, west on Jefferson Island Road, northwest on West Hwy 90 Frontage Road, and then northeast onto La. 2312.
The diversion road will be open to regular traffic with no anticipated vehicle restrictions.
Emergency vehicles will have access to the area utilizing the same detour routes previously mentioned.
