Belle Chasse Tunnel (LA 23) closure

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces the southbound lanes of LA 23 through the Belle Chasse Tunnel will be closed starting at 7 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2021 until 5 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021 for tunnel cleaning.
The tunnel will also be closed from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2021 and on Sunday, February 28, 2021 for its biennial inspection.
All work is weather permitting.
As an alternate route, motorists can take the Judge Perez Bridge (LA 23) in either direction.
