Road closures remain due to winter weather

Baton Rouge- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that priority routes U.S. 190 and U.S. 61 in East Baton Rouge Parish remain open, however, the I-10 Mississippi River Bridge and I-10 between Lafayette in Baton Rouge remain closed due to ice.
There was been significant accumulation of sleet and ice on bridges, overpasses, and roadways resulting in travel conditions that are still considered to be inadvisable. DOTD is strongly urging motorists to avoid ALL unnecessary travel.
Remember that it’s unlawful and unsafe to drive around a road closed barricade for any reason.
