**UPDATE 7-29-2021**

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, (DOTD), advises the public that the construction work on H. Strange Road (Bridge) over Indian Creek is complete and will be open to the traveling public starting on Monday, August 2, 2021.

**Bridge Closure; H. Strange Road Bridge Over Indian Creek; Rapides Parish; Concrete Slab Span Bridge**

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, (DOTD), advises the public that beginning Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 9:00 a.m., weather permitting, H. Strange Road will be closed to thru traffic. The road closure will start approximately 2 miles (at bridge) from the intersection of LA 112 and I-49. This closure is needed to replace an existing wooden bridge with a new concrete slab span bridge. This is an off system bridge project for the Rapides Parish Police Jury that was awarded to Merrick Construction, LLC in the amount of $1,819,991.20. This closure is expected to last approximately 3 months.

There are no detours at this time associated with this road closures.

All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
