Baton Rouge - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that the second Plaquemine ferry continues to be out of service in Iberville Parish. The boat is temporarily replacing the Cameron ferry in southwest Louisiana, which is undergoing repairs. The second Plaquemine ferry is expected to remain in Cameron for several more weeks due to the Cameron ferry experiencing unexpected repair issues, which must be resolved to be in accordance with U.S. Coast Guard regulations.

As a reminder, the primary Plaquemine ferry’s modified hours of operation are as follows:
  • Monday-Friday from 4:30am to 9:00pm
  • Saturday-Sunday from 9:30am to 7:00pm
