DOTD to add turn lane, remove trees in Harahan

JEFFERSON PARISH, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces the addition of a right-turn lane on southbound Dickory Avenue at Dock Street in Harahan, La.
The $324,734 project will construct the right-turn lane near Dock St. to improve traffic operations at the signalized intersection. The addition will require the median on Dickory Ave. to be narrowed to provide for additional roadway width. The removal of 23 trees in the median of Dickory Ave is necessary to complete the project.
The construction began on November 30 and is expected to be completed by early 2021.
There will be alternating single lane closures beginning Monday, November 30, 2020 to Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to allow crews to remove the trees.
No detour is necessary, although minor delays are to be expected.
All work is weather permitting.
