UPDATE - REOPENED: LA 529 (Emma Cemetery Rd), Bossier Parish
UPDATE (12/5/2020): This portion of the work on this project (cross drain replacement) is complete and LA 529 in Bossier Parish has been REOPENED. As the overlay project progresses, intermittent lane closures will be necessary but no detours will be required.
DOTD appreciates the public's patience and urges everyone to drive with caution through the construction zone. Please be on the lookout for crews and their equipment, and adhere to posted speed limits and other advance warning signage.

UPDATE (11/23/2020): This road closure has been RESCHEDULED to begin on Monday, November 30, 2020. LA 529 from LA 160 to LA 2 in northeast Bossier Parish will be closed to thru traffic.
This traffic configuration is anticipated to last approximately five (5) days, and is necessary to allow the contractor to replace drainage structures that cross the roadway.

Original notification:
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, LA 529 from LA 160 to LA 2 in northeast Bossier Parish will be closed to thru traffic.
This traffic configuration is anticipated to last approximately five (5) days, and is necessary to allow the contractor to replace drainage structures that cross the roadway.
This road closure is part of the $2.8 million project to improve LA 529 with a patch, mill and overlay. Additional intermittent lane closures will be required as the project moves forward.
The entire project is expected to be complete in late Spring 2021, weather permitting.
Alternate route: Traffic will be detoured via LA 160, US 371 and LA 2.
Restrictions/Permits: N/A
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
