UPDATE*** I-10 is now fully reopened through the state***

DOTD crews at the Vernon/ Rapides line on LA 121 are working on removing debris and fallen trees from the roadways. Be on the lookout for crews and equipment, and be mindful that you may encounter delays due to these ongoing operations.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that I-10 is open from the Texas/ Louisiana state line through the state except from mile maker 34 (I-210) in Lake Charles to mile marker 25 (I-210) in Sulphur due to a chemical fire. Motorists can use I-210 as an alternative route to avoid this road closure.

Debris remains throughout impacted areas and motorists should only drive if necessary. Clean-up operations are in effect, so please be on the lookout for DOTD crews and their equipment, and be mindful that you may encounter delays due to these ongoing operations.

DOTD reminds motorists to never drive around a ‘road closed’ barricade at any time for any reason. Doing so is extremely unsafe, as well as illegal.

Call 511 or visit www.511la.org for additional information. Out-of-state travelers may call 1-800-ROAD-511 (1-800-762-3511). Motorists may also monitor the LA DOTD website at www.dotd.la.gov, by selecting MYDOTD, or by visiting the DOTD Facebook and Twitter pages.
