The planned cleaning has been canceled due to potential inclement weather.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces the southbound lanes of LA 23 through the Belle Chasse Tunnel will be closed on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 from 7 p.m. until Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 5 a.m.
The closure is necessary to allow crews to clean the tunnel. All work is weather permitting.
As an alternate route, motorists can take the Judge Perez Bridge (LA 23) in either direction.
