Dept. of Transportation and Development Announces Bid Results for Statewide Projects

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that 10 projects around the state that recently received bids. Eight contractors presented apparent low bids totaling $22 million.

“Even though we’re all going through a difficult time right now, it’s important for our infrastructure projects to continue,” said DOTD Secretary Shawn D. Wilson, Ph.D. “We had a small letting this month, but the projects included are still important to further our state’s transportation system. The citizens of Louisiana and I appreciate all of the DOTD staff’s and contractors’ efforts to keep our system running safely and efficiently. Your efforts are helping to stabilize the economy and to improve the state’s infrastructure for our future.”

The projects and their apparent low bids are as follows:

Bridge Replacement and Repair:

  • Replacement of Gray’s Creek Bridge on Whittington Road in Livingston Parish: $898,835.90

Pavement/ Overlay:

  • Grading, milling, patching, overlay, and drainage along U.S. 90 between St. Charles Parish line and 2.5 miles east of LA 182 in Lafourche Parish: $4,524,777.00
  • Milling, patching, overlay, and drainage on LA 96 between LA 182 and LA 31 in Lafayette and St. Martin parishes: $4,747,791.15
  • Milling, overlay, and drainage on LA 133 between Hebert and Vestal Lane in Caldwell Parish: $3,775,893.25
  • Milling, patching, overlay, and drainage on LA 865 between LA 4 and end of maintenance in Franklin Parish: $1,125,281.60

Congestion Mitigation and Safety:

  • Signing and pavement markings throughout Tangipahoa Parish: $890,523.42
  • Lighting replacement on U.S. 90Z in Harvey Tunnel in Jefferson Parish: $4,935,936.01
  • Pavement marking replacement on I-10 in St. Martin Parish: $160,572.40
  • Pavement marking on I-10 between I-55 and Jefferson Parish line in St. Charles and St. John the Baptist parishes: $439,800.20

Other:

  • Mowing and litter removal along I-49 in Caddo Parish: $498,962.00

Construction projects are prioritized by road/bridge condition, urgency of improvements, type/volume of traffic, crash records, unforeseeable emergencies that caused damage, and several other factors.
