Baton Rouge – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that work on the LA 30 and Brightside Lane/ Lee Drive project in East Baton Rouge Parish is progressing.

Crews are continuing to lay asphalt, as well as perform curb and gutter work along Brightside Lane. There will be nightly lane closures until April 3 to allow crews to install asphalt. At least one lane will be opened in every direction at all times to allow for thru traffic.

This $9.05 million project consist of making intersection improvements to LA 30 at Brightside Lane and Lee Drive by widening the roadway to include new left turn lanes and signals. The project also includes improvements to the grade at the intersection and replacing the existing bridge on LA 30 with a box culvert.

Construction began July 2018 and is anticipated to be completed summer 2020, weather dependent.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
