Brightside Lane now open to thru traffic

Baton Rouge- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that both lanes on Brightside Lane near the intersection of LA 30 (Nicholson Drive) in East Baton Rouge Parish are now open to thru traffic. Crews were able to open both lanes ahead of the scheduled LSU football game against Arkansas on Saturday.
This intersection was closed in late October in order for crews to make modifications to the railroad crossing. These modifications were needed in order to complete a larger project to widen and reconstruct the intersection LA 30 and Brightside Lane by adding left turn lanes and signals. Construction on this $9.05 million project is anticipated to be completed by late January 2020, weather dependent.
