UPDATE – Lane width restriction added to US 80 bridge replacement in Webster Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that a lane width restriction has been added to the bridge replacement work over Boone Creek that is underway on US 80 westbound near Dixie Inn in Webster Parish.

The road is closed completely in the westbound direction, and is reduced to ONE LANE in the eastbound direction in the area of the closure, which is located approximately 2.42 miles west of US 371.

Due to the single lane closure in the eastbound direction, a lane width restriction of no wider than 12 feet is now in place. No wide loads will be permitted to pass through the construction zone.

The bridge replacement work began on Monday, September 30, 2019, and is anticipated to last approximately eight (8) weeks, weather permitting.

Alternate route: Full road closure in the westbound direction. ALL westbound vehicles must detour using I-20 and Goodwill Road. Wide loads in the eastbound direction must also utilize this detour.

Safety Reminder:

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
